        Terence McKenna (1946-2000) author and explorer, spent over thirty years in the study of the ontological foundations of shamanism and the ethno-pharmacology of spiritual transformation. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a distributed major in Ecology, Resource Conservation and Shamanism. After graduation he traveled extensively in the Asian and New World Tropics, becoming specialized in the shamanism and ethno-medicine of the Amazon Basin. With his brother Dennis, he is author of The Archaic Revival, Food of the Gods, The Invisible Landscape, True Hallucinations (a book of his Amazon adventures), and Psilocybin: The Magical Mushroom Growers Guide. His interviews and essays can be found in such magazines as Magical Blend, Green Egg, and Psychedelic Illuminations. He was the founding secretary - treasurer of Botanical Dimensions, a tax-exempt, non-profit research botanical garden and gene bank devoted to the collection and propagation of plants of ethno-pharmacological interest.
