"The Whole is greater than the sum of the parts." When searching for a new way to describe Starwood, we came upon the puzzle analogy. We synthesized icons of some of our divese offerings. But we didn't find the true design until we found the missing piece.As with a jigsaw puzzle, the individual pieces only give a clue. Every face you meet, every new idea that's sparked, every new experience adds to the final picture. Welcome to the Starwood Puzzle!
And we have lots of new scenes to be in: orientation workshops for first timers, a festival-wide OM, a Drum X-Change, and a live band for the dance party, to name just a few.
Thanks in advance for adding your energy to this amazing Universe-City. All together, we make it miraculously rise up out of the middle of this meadow!
It all starts Tuesday night with our Opening Circle, followed by the Welcome Wagon ConcertJam and the Gruple Dome DrumJam where the drumming really starts to get hot and spread around. Wednesday night we'll have a short Concert to bring the sun down, followed by animated shorts and Fern Gully, the fully animated musical, magical, ecological fantasy film. Then the Dance Party erupts: starry skies, any-clad dancing and world-bead dance music with toasty video and light insanity. Thursday is Bardic Performance night, when our stage is open for you songs, poetry or other short behaviors. Friday and Saturday will both have Major Concerts. After Friday's concert Testburn promises to tattoo and pierce your brains with Thermal Shutdown: a multi-media island performance using secret technologies currently under development in their Cleveland lab. And after Saturday's concert, our now legendary Bonfire. To the rhythm of Starwood's magical drummers, more than a thousand of us swirl our gypsy energies around the blazing heart of Starwood, dancing with the elements, the moon, and the stars...
