Maimu Alber
Maimu Alber is a 3rd Circle member of the Church of All Worlds, coordinator for the Crooked River Aerie Pagans (CRAP) in Lakewood, OH, and business manager for the children's magazine How About Magic (HAM). She has over 15 years experience with Narcotics Anonymous (14 yrs sober), and has both conducted many workshops and written articles & papers on the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions.

Twelve Step / Sober Support
This is an opportunity for those of us who are in recovery to connect with others, make new friends, and plan further meetings during the event. We can establish times and places to take a break from the general festival atmosphere and share safe space, conversation, and good company. We'll gather at the Healer's Row Campfire.

Twelve Step as Myth:A Neo-Pagan Perspective to Recovery
The 12 Steps have helped millions of people recover, yet their non-affirmation of dualities and their concept of an ascendant and moralistic "Higher Power" puts off many Pagans, keeping them from sharing the benefits of the program. Drawing on her own experiences, Maimu hopes to offer a context within which Pagans, polyamorous folk, and others involved with or just entering into alternative lifestyles and belief systems can integrate the program in a meaningful way, and find creative and fulfilling ways to "take what we need and leave the rest".

Ar nDraiocht Fein (ADF)
is the nation's largest Pagan Druidic Fellowship, devoted to public worship and in-depth training. It attempts to revive the best aspects of the Paleopagan faiths of our forebears within a modern, scientific, artistic, ecological and holistic context. Visit the ADF website at <http://www.adf.org>

A Druidic Rite of Blessing
Join the Rites of the Druids of Ar nDraiocht Fein in a midnight Celtic rite in the main Ritual Circle. We will light the Sacred Fire and bless the Holy Well, and open the Gates Between the Worlds. We will make offering to the Gods and Spirits, invoking their presence and power. Together with them, we will work magic to bring blessing, bounty, and inspiration to all who come with an open heart.

The Association for Consciousness Exploration
was conceived and created by members of the Chameleon Club, an eclectic extended-partying group floundered in 1978 in the northeast Ohio area. "Dedicated to the Expansion of the Frontiers of your Consideration", ACE provides programs that celebrate diversity in the fields of consciousness, spirituality, and discovery such as the Starwood Festival and the WinterStar Symposium. To quote their Flounder, C.C. Rosencomet,"Their motto is Change!, their spirit in undaunted, their energy is phenomenal, and their number is far from legion." There are many other groups like the Chameleon Club, but they all reside in parallel universes.

"So It's Your First Starwood..."
Chameleons and ACE organizers Sean, Liafal, and Jeff Rosenbaum present an informal orientation for first time attenders to Starwood (or festivals in general). Topics to be me discussed may include site orientation, etiquette, how to tell the staff from even lower primates, the history of Starwood, and your incessant and unwelcome questions. Just kidding. No, really.

Sylvia Brallier
is the founder and director of the School for Body-Centered Spiritual Healing. She has been teaching healing, tantra, metaphysics, shamanism and Earth spirituality workshops throughout the Northeast for the last eleven years. Sylvia's work is based on her own experiences with both ancient and new techniques for the evolution of consciousness.

Ecstasy as a Shamanic Path: A Journey into the Mystery
Ecstasy is a divine gift that lifts us out of ordinary reality and into a direct experience of the sacred. The transformative fires of ecstasy burn away the blocked energy held in our shadow selves and transmute it into pure energy that may be used for the healing of ourselves and our world. It removes the barriers between our personality selves and our souls, giving us a greater understanding of ourselves and the universe.

In this ceremonial experience of opening to the ecstatic fire, we will allow the Great Mystery to dance wisdom into every cell of our beings. We will use breath to open ourselves to surrender and release through the power of the Lady, and to manifest our highest potential with the Grace of the Lord. Through Their merging within us, we will experience the path of ecstasy. We will then work with trance dance and drumming to anchor this spiritual reality within form and consciousness. Please bring drums and/or rattles if you have them or can borrow them.

Pearl Breitbach is, as of this writing, Iowa's first and only Certified Professional Midwife, having attended over 200 homebirths in over fifteen years. All of her own children were born at home. Pearl shares her empowering personal experiences, and her struggles with "the witch hunt", at festivals and events around the country, and plays with The One Hat Band.

Cultivating Consciousness in Your Child
The Breitbach Family consists of 2 parents and 5 children (the fifth, Chiron, was conceived at the 1997 Starwood Festival!) has many talents: they perform music as The One Hat Band, own and operate an organic food store, work as environmental activists, and support their mom's carreer as a midwife. They have very successfully homeschooled this creative collection of consciousness from birth thru the high school years. The whole family will share how easy, fun, and productive it is to NOT institutionalize children. Avoid "herd mentality", explore boundless creative consciousness, and enjoy your child! Entertainment and inspiration assured.

Shawna Carol is a recording artist, composer, and Sound Healer, and the Director of the SpiritSong Center. She has taught with Paul Winter and with Julia Cameron, author of The Artist's Way. Her recordings include Mystic Soul and Goddess Chant: Sacred Pleasure (available on Ladyslipper Records).

The Living Chant
For centuries people have used chanting to create an intimate relationship with the Divine. In this workshop we will spend time singing and chanting together, and exploring the ancient sound healing practice of toning. We will explore how sound can move us closer to the Divine within us. Then we will create our own sacred chants, and each person will leave with their own unique chant to continue their practice with. No previous singing experience is necessary.

SpiritSong: Singing in the Goddess
In this workshop we will weave community singing and chanting with the ancient sound healing practice of toning, exploring the healing power of toning with loving witness. We will sing chants that evoke the Great Mystery of Life, and form a supportive community where each voice is celebrated. Julia Cameron, author of The Artist's Way, calls SpiritSong "An extremely powerful technique". No previous experience necessary.

The Church of All Worlds was founded in 1962. Their membership has included many of the movers and shakers in the worldwide Pagan community. Inspired by Robert Heinlein's novel Stranger in a Strange Land, it celebrates diversity, freedom of expression and life-style, and a spiritual unity with the Earth. CAW's publication, http://www.centrak.com, has won many awards and has published over 100 issues. Leaders present at Starwood this year include Oberon, Liza, Orion, and Anodea. Feel free to visit their website at <http://www.caw.org>(Tapes on CAW's history and other subjects by CAW members available from ACE)

Drinking Deeply/ Sharing Water
A Church of All Worlds water-sharing ceremony (held in the pool) adapted from Robert Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land, this moving communion ceremony affirms our kinship in the Great Circle of Life. "Water shared is life shared" with "all that Groks" which, of course, is God/dess. Experience this unity through the ritualized sharing of water as the essence of life. You must be able to swim and to tread water.

C.A.W. Clergy Confab
How has the Church of All Worlds managed to stay together all these years to become the oldest continuous Neo-Pagan organization? What does CAW have to offer YOU? How do you progress through its Nine Circles? Open discussion with members of the Priesthood on the "hot seat" for questions and answers. Literature available.

Earth Religion Rights Networking
Many Earth Religionists (Pagans, Wiccans, Druids, Shamans, Mystics, etc.) have suffered job and housing discrimination, police harassment, vandalism, and other evils. Some have lost custody of their children. Many have been forced to move or spend thousands of dollars in their defense. Several new cases of this nature may occur every week in the U.S. alone.

In this workshop we will share our personal experiences both with these issues and in the battle to combat them, covering organizations, resources, and tactics that can help. Sign-up sheets will be distributed and opportunities to obtain help and/or offer your services to the cause will be presented. This is a true networking session, not just a class, and we welcome contributions of information, literature, aid, and even money for postage and printing to help the cause of Earth Religion Rights. Science, Consciousness and Magic
Quantum mechanics and associated theories of consciousness, as well as many spiritual philosophies, indicate that matter, energy, and life itself are manifestations of non-localized, unified, underlying strata. The underlying strata are described as waves of probability in quantum mechanics. By unifying one's consciousness with such underlying strata, one can achieve states of consciousness in which one can obtain and send information and also influence events. In this workshop, quantum mechanical theories concerning the nature of consciousness and magick will be discussed, along with associated laws of magick. A quantitative theory developed by Evan Harris Walker, at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Army Ballistic Research Center, will be given special attention.

True Tales of the Occult
A sharing by participants of funny stories of strange occurrences in ritual, magic with bazaar outcomes, encounters between Pagans and fundies, funny chants, and other weirdness. Please bring at least one funny but true story, but avoid naming those directly involved, except for your role in it.

Ian Corrigan Ian Corrigan is a Chameleon, ACE organizer, and a well-known Pagan clergy and teacher in the Northeast Ohio area. Ian is a former Archdruid and Director of ADF, a founding member and Elder of Stone Creed Grove, ADF, and author of four books on Celtic Paganism: The Portal Book, The Book of the Dragon, Grammary, and Druidheachd. He is one of the finest bards of the modern Pagan movement. He has been performing songs of the British Isles and Neo-Paganism for over 20 years, and his music and poetry have delighted audiences at A.C.E. events and Pagan festivals across the U.S.A. and Canada. His extensive Magical scholarship, his talents on guitar, drum and penny-whistle, and his deep, rich vocals are an unmatched blend in the music of the ongoing Bardic tradition. (Music tapes, lecture tapes and books by Ian are available from ACE.)

Through the Mists: an Intensive in Celtic & Druidic Paganism
In 8 to 10 hours of teaching, ceremony and story by Ian, Liafal, Fox, and other ADF members, students will learn basic patterns of Celtic myth and symbolism. We will explore the structure of the Celtic sacred view of the world, from the Primary Division, through the Three-fold Cosmos and the Nine Elements, to the Gods, Goddesses, Ancestors, and the Tribes of the Sidhe. Basic skills and methods of Pagan magic will be taught in the context of Druidry. The work will come together in a formal ceremony of worship and magic, and themes will carry over into the Thursday night Druid ritual.

While Through The Mists is based in the research and practice of Ar nDraiocht Fein, America's oldest and largest Neopagan Druidic society, the ideas will be represented in a nonsectarian manner. We think that everyone with an interest in Celtic ways will find this teaching valuable.

We hope you will join us. This intensive is a "beta test" of a developing pattern of training and work, and we are asking a nominal fee to defray expenses and encourage focus. Students will receive extensive printed notes and support materials. Cost: $10 per person, limit 27 students.
