Taliesin Govannon

Taliesin Athor Govannon has been a student of the occult for over 25 years, studying a potpourri of topics ranging from hauntings and poltergeists to UFOs, demonology, tarot, ceremonial magick and beyond. He has followed the path of Witchcraft for the past 18 years, partaking in everything from solitary practice to Celtic Traditional Craft; as well as leading a myriad of eclectic open circles along the way. Taliesin is currently High Priest of the Coven of Caer Ariarhod in Northeast Ohio. He is also a free-lance writer, author of In My Own Hand Of Write, as well as a forthcoming book about Traditional Wicca for Solitaries. He's also a political junkie, as well as a regular diarist (and occaisional front-page poster) on Street Prophets, a spin off of DailyKos (the largest progressive blog on the internet), that deals with politics and religion from a liberal point of view.

Traditional Wicca For The Solitary Practitioner

While once new and rebellious, Solitary Eclecticticisim is now the status quo in the Wiccan/Pagan movement. And yet, there is a renewed interest in the older Traditions..."Gardnerian", "Alexandrian", "Celtic Traditional" and the like. Some people see that these Trads have been around for over a half of a century and are curious to find out more. The trouble is, most of the information and ritual material available for Traditional Craft are geared exclusively around group/coven workings, making it difficult to adapt for people used to working alone. In this workshop Taliesin will give a brief overview of Traditional forms of Wicca, it's ritual basics, and how one can adapt these time-honoured ritual practices into a solitary framework.

The Paranormal Pagan

At one time, most people came to the Pagan Religions through traditional occultism; ghosts, spiritualism, parapsychology and the like. The recent explosion in accessibility through modern media, however, has meant that a great many newer members of the Neo-Pagan community have little to no experience in these areas of western occultism. In this workshop we will explore "classic" topics like hauntings, poltergeist, demonology, UFOs and more; and look at all through the unique perspective of Earth-Centered spirituality.
