Bernadette Montana

Bernadette Montana has been teaching and practicing Wicca, the Tarot and Native American practices for over 20 years. She is a 3rd degree priestess in the Alexandrian tradition, a tribal member and pipe carrier of the Sun Bear tribe (an all nations tribe), and a tribal member of the Baramaya tribe (Taino bloodline). Currently a 3rd degree Reiki practitioner, Bernadette has given classes in the Tarot, and in Wicca, in shops all over Orange County NY. These shops include The Sugar Loaf Inn, Windows to the Sky, Sunshine Studios and others. She currently owns her own metaphysical shop in Cornwall, NY called Brid's Closet. Bernadette also facilitates events and festivals in Orange County NY, such as The Beltane Festival in Cornwall and The Yule Celebration in New Windsor, and organizes The Newburgh and Cornwall Witches Meet-Up (the largest meet-up group in the lower Hudson Valley area). Published works include 2 essays on The Witches Voice: What Does It Mean To Be A Pagan In Today's World? (one of the top ten viewed essays of the year) and The Good, The Bad, and The Tarot Reader. She is now in the process of writing two tarot courses for The College Sacred Mists, an on-line Wiccan College.

An Intuitive Approach to the Tarot

What does "intuitive tarot" mean? This class will help the student to develop their own intuitive sense, so that the tarot can be used without having to refer to that little booklet that comes with the deck! The tarot teaches you how to tap into your subconscious, your past experiences, and even your past lives! This class will touch on archetypes or symbols and how to interpret them in a reading. This will be a very interactive class in which the student will learn how to take care of their decks and how to do a beginning spread. Bernadette will be bringing a few decks with her, but it is recommended that students bring their own deck.

Ethics and the Law of Three

What is “The Law of Three”? What does it mean to you? How do ethics apply to you, and how you use magick? We will touch on the basics of magick, Crowley and Thelema. It is recommended that you be somewhat familiar with the "Wiccan Rede” and “The Law of Three”, as well as having some knowledge of Aleister Crowley. Recommended reading (not absolutely required) is The Book of the Law. Bernadette will have handouts for everyone.
