Michael Mirth

Michael Mirth, nurses attest, was born with a deck of cards in one of his baby hands and a few coins in his other, much to the chagrin of his mother. He began performing at the age of five in schools and at birthday parties in Sandusky, Ohio, where he had, up until that time, wasted the first five years of his life. Honing his magical skills, he pursued an education at Heidelberg College, studying Philosophy, Psychology and Theatre. Today he continues to study and practice to provide Comedy and Wonder to young and old and in-between. In 2000, he had the rare opportunity to be part of an intensive Master's Class in Las Vegas with two of the world's top magicians. This was the start of a decade of study with Jeff McBride (known to us as Magnus), a two time recipient of the Magic Castle's Magician of the Year Award, and Jeff's mentor, Eugene Burger. He performed with them in March 2011, at McBride's "Wonderground" venue. He is a past president of Ring 161 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. In 1999 and 2009, that group voted him magician of the year. He is the founding member of the Revolving Wand Magic Association, a member of the Society of American Magicians, and was granted a lifetime membership in the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He has performed on ABC-TV's The Wayne Brady Show, at Hollywood's Magic Castle, and on top of the Great Wall of China. His awards include the 2004 gold medal in sleight-of-hand from the International Battle of Magicians.
