Joseph Rothenberg

Joseph Rothenberg is a Registered Nurse with degrees in Psychology/Political Science, and Nursing. He is a Mason, a founder of ACE LLC, The Chameleon Club and The Starwood Festival. He has been presenting workshops on light/sound meditation enhancement and Biofeedback since 1979. A member of the steering committee for Heights Families for Equality, he worked on the nation's first successful campaign to create a domestic partner registry by public referendum.

Interface: A Hands-On Experience with Meditation, Light/Sound Machines and Biofeedback

A hands on experience with Meditation, Light/Sound machines and Biofeedback. Using a variety of currently available Light/Sound mind machines, we will explore states of consciousness induced by different light and sound patterns. Participants will also have the opportunity to observe and/or try out the Wild Divine biofeedback video game. Older GSR sensitive task games and newer graphically intense heart rate sensitive entrainment games will be available for your instruction and amusement. Biofeedback will be demonstrated using some hand held machines that measure galvanic skin response or muscle tension. EEG feedback, lucid dreaming, and breath training feed back devices will also be demonstrated. Together we will explore the pros and cons of using these devices in your meditation practice.

The GLBT Faerie Experience

An open house for the gay community at Starwood; this is as much a social event as a workshop, with an opportunity for new people to meet one another and old friends to get together. Feel free to bring a snack to share and a comfy chair. The topic for discussion will be the GLBT spiritual experience, marriage equality, and the nuts and bolts of effective political action. My experience as a Gay man at both Starwood and in the world at large has changed dramaticly over the past decade, perhaps yours has too. I welcome this opportunity to share my experience and, more importantly, yours.
