Casting the Circle: So Where Does That Energy Come From Anyway?

Circle casting is often one of the first steps to a ritual, and one of the most important. Solid circle casting skills make for a firm ritual foundation. However, this workshop is not about memorizing words and/or gestures, but about understanding the energy at work when we cast a circle. This workshop will cover the ritual mechanics of Circle Casting including how to use the chakras and etheric energy to create sacred space. Reasons a circle is created, preparation in circle casting and how the Elements are involved will also be discussed. Attendees will work together, utilizing various circle casting techniques.

Hekate: Goddess of the Crossroads

As a Votary Priestess of Hekate, Tamrha will discuss Her possible origins, myths, sacred days, attributes, offerings and symbols. Hekate is more than what many today think She is: a hag or Crone that wanders cemeteries, only concerned with ghosts and death. We will explore how She appeared in antiquity as well as some of the roles She had: life transitions (birth, death and rebirth), the Comic Soul as Hekate Soteria, companion of Persephone, Goddess of Crossroads, etc. This workshop will also take attendees on a pathworking to meet Her, and to explore and experience how this ancient Goddess can be worked with in modern times.
