Considerations
This is a semi-developed camping facility (no RV hook-ups). Sorry, NO DOGS allowed at Starwood. Bring safe lighting sources, and grills or campstoves if you plan to cook. Although the water is quite drinkable, please bring drinking water to ease the strain on the resources. There are many wooded areas for shady camping, but the windy field requires sturdy camping equipment. July nights in New York State are often cold! Bring warm clothing and extra blankets. But the days are glorious, and Brushwood is a clothing optional site EXCEPT in the areas directly visible from the road or where indicated by signs (Skyclad=clad by the sky, i.e. clothing optional).

Admissions will be closed each night between 1AM and 8AM. Plan to arrive outside these hours or contact us to make prior arrangements.

Our parking area is located at the front of the site. Vehicles must be parked there once unloaded. If your vehicle absolutely must stay on site, special arrangements MUST be made when you check in. For your privacy and security, you must sign a waiver and receive your Starwood XVIII ID to wear throughout the event. Parents of small children will be given a KidSafe form to attach to the outside of your tent, so we can find you on site if necessary.

A.C.E. will be videotaping some selected presentations for our archives. These tapings will be noted on the program, and will include only the presentation, not the attendees. This does not relax our long standing policy banning any photography without the knowledge and consent of those photographed.

Bring your radios and boom boxes, because Radio Starwood will be on the air! Our own site-wide FM stereo transmitter with Chameleon Club, SubGenius, and Special Guest DJs will provide festival info and schedule changes over YOUR radio, along with music, comedy, interviews and insanity to tickle your fancy and melt your mind (Frequency will be posted on-site).

WORK DONATION: We ask that all attendees donate a minimum of two hours of their time to help the festival run smoothly. Beyond creating a sense of community, it's vital to an event of this scope.

THANKS!

Reminders

Info
For 1st-timers, we suggest either the Wednesday or Thursday Orientation workshop. Other info sources: the Information Booth and Bulletin Board, and roving Heralds. Changes are inevitable, check these sources to stay current.
Safety and Security
Please be smart about your belongings, know your neighbors, wear your ID, and report any suspicious activity to Security. Your co-attendees depend on you!
Brushwood Traffic
Your VEHICLE ID TAG must be visible in your car which you¼ll park across the street in the Parking Area immediately after you unload. Merchant vehicles that MUST stay on-site must be approved by Starwood Staff, and should be left there until Sunday afternoon or departure. NO non-staff vehicle traffic is allowed in the camping area from 1-8 AM.
Restricted Areas
Roped-off areas have a purpose, please respect them. No loud music or drumming in Quiet Camping (top o¼ the hill) after 10:30 PM. Sky clad is fine up to the back of the showerhouse, but please dress when you go up for ice, to the cook house, or the Parking Area.
Fire
Don¼t leave candles, grills, etc. unattended. Firepits are OK but must be filled in before leaving.
The Land
Leave standing trees alone! Honor the small plants as well. There are many rare species here. Shoes are strongly recommended in the woods. Please stay on marked paths, especially at night. Follow the recycling directions on the Trash Talk page. Pick up any trash you find and clean your campground thoroughly before you leave.
Help!
As our event progresses, your 2-hour volunteer shift becomes ever more critical. PLEASE show up at your scheduled place and time, dressed to work. If you want to help more, the gods will smile upon you! Pool & Hot Tub Read and follow Brushwood¼s posted hours and rules. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent at all times. NO alchohol is allowed in the pool area.
The Sky-Clad Experience
You'll be surprised how quickly you get used to it! Relax, enjoy the freedom, and wear good sunblock, especially on parts that rarely see the light of day! Don't work, build fires or go hiking skyclad. You'll thank yourself later. And remember, if ya' don't wanna, ya' don't gotta!
Also, realize that nudity does not mean sex; and unwarranted sexual advances or lewdness will not be tolerated. Please be respectful of other people.
Paid Workshops
Pre-bought tickets must be picked up at Registration! If you don¼t have a ticket and wish to purchase one, they¼re available „at the door¾ of the workshop. We do not sell tickets at the A.C.E. Sales Table or Registration. Please note that these workshops are for ticket holders only! If you are not a paying particpant, please respect our boundaries and move away from areas when requested. Thanks.
Lost and Found
is located at the A.C.E. Sales table, but for your own protection there is no open access. You must describe any lost item to the A.C.E Sales table staff. Fnord Luck!

Child Care & Teens

We've planned a full and growing schedule of fun for our young people, including Co-Op Child Care (ages 5 and under), Kid Village (6-10), Youth Group (11-14), and Young Adults (15-17), with classes, rituals, and a parade (bring costumes or supplies if you like). Those with talents in these areas please contact Liafal/Sue Parker, P.O. Box 173, Perry, OH 44081.

Parents and Kids
Most parents are great, but past problems force us to include this section. We offer safe play areas and kids programming, but the festival at large isn¼t your babysitter. Parents who don¼t behave responsibly face expulsion. Know your kids¼ whereabouts, retrieve them from Child Care at scheduled times, and please assist in the kid-specific areas. The pool is the only supervised swimming area!

First Aid

Supplies are always available at the First-Aid Center, a small building near the Pool House. When staffed, it's by good samaritan volunteers, and is not a substitute for qualified medical treatment. Licensed physicians are at the nearby local hospital. In case of a medical emergency, contact First Aid or an A.C.E. or Brushwood Staff member immediately! Do not move anyone who is unconscious or has fallen! Wait for staff.

Healer's Row...is a special circle sanctified for healing. Many disciplines are represented in one enclosed location: Shiatsu, Myotherapy, Energy Working, Aura Cleansing, Crystal Healing and much more. (Its offerings are not officially sanctioned by A.C.E., Brushwood or Starwood personnel.) Look for the Yin Yang flag at the entrance.

The Starwood First Aid Booth and Healers' Row have work barter positions for a few more trained medical personnel. If interested contact Rebecca Crystal, 487 Ethan Allen Parkway Unit 1, Burlington, VT 05401 (802) 863-1920.

Have fun, but play safe. Watch your sun exposure, drink plenty of water, and look out for one another. Sunscreen and condoms are always available at the First Aid Tent.
