Brushwood Folklore Center, our festival site, is 180 acres of majestic woodlands and rolling meadows, with a large pond and center island. This amazing site keeps growing and changing! In addition to the beautiful pool pavilion with its spacious hot tub and hot showers, Downtown Brushwood includes merchants galore, a food court, and other structures. Additional hot showers and flush toilets at the Bath House add to our comfort.

Nights in July in Western New York State are often cold! Bring warm clothing and extra blankets. Days however, are glorious, and Brushwood is a clothing optional site except in the areas directly visible from the road or where indicated by signs.

What to bring...
For many, this list could be endless. For others, a blanket, drum and some granola will suffice. Most of us fall in the middle somewhere. For a well thought out list of "things", check out the following websites:

This is a semi-developed camping facility (no RV hook-ups). Sorry, NO DOGS allowed at Brushwood. Bring safe lighting sources and grills or campstoves if you plan to cook.
Don't leave candles, grills, etc. unattended. Firepits are OK, but must be filled in before leaving. NO fires in the woods without prior permission from Brushwood.
There are many wooded areas for shady camping, but the windy field requires sturdy camping equipment. Leave the cheap dining flies and thin aluminum poles at home, they will get destroyed quickly...

There is no current recycling policy at Brushwood. New York is a deposit state and we would urge everyone to take their beverage containers back to where they were purchased for the refund. Otherwise, PACK GREEN so we don't have to Recycle (or send everything to the landfill).

Please BURN
Anything and everything you can. You will notice several campfires distributed liberally around Brushwood that can be used to burn things like paper, cardboard, and food scraps. This will cut the amount of things going into the landfill by about half!!!

Your dishes by getting water, take it back to your site, wash, and throw the 'gray' (dirty) water no closer that 50' from a lake or stream, or your neighbor for that matter. Do not wash dishes at the spigots or sinks!
Be Courteous!
